Bejewelled Heritage: History of the Rajput Regiment
Anil Shorey
Year Of Publication : 2006
Price : US$39

About the Book
This most striking and illustrated book chronicles the annals of the Rajput Regiment, which is amongst the oldest Infantry Regiments of the Indian Army. It lays particular emphasis on the last three decades, a period which has seen the REgiment winning many more laurels and attaining even greater heights. The fronts where 'Rajputs' have earned accolades have been during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, in both the eastern and western theatres; in the fields of border-guarding and numerous Counter Insurgency Operations in J&K and the north east; in dealing with the sensitive Punjab problem.

About the Author
Colonel Anil Shorey was commissioned in May 1974 into 14 Punjab (Nabha Akal), a unit once commanded by his father in NEFA who died during command. Educated in Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Delhi, Anil is a graduate of Hindu College, Delhi University and the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) Wellington. He is also a Post Graduate in English and Defence Studies. He has had a first hand experience in high altitude and intense counter insurgency operations in J&K and the north-eastern states.
